Dedication of Zambia to “The Lord Jesus Christ”

The late President of Zambia, Frederick Chiluba, during his inaguration in 1991 dedicated the nation of Zambia to the Lord Jesus Christ. He stated that Zambia would be “a Christian nation” governed by the “righteous precepts of God’s holy law”. He further went on to say, “I submit myself to the Lordship of Jesus Christ” and “I submit Zambia to the Lordship of Jesus Christ”. During this speech the crowd cheered as Zambia was dedicated to Christ. Through the providential hand of God we have come upon an old VHS tape of a portion of this speech. The nation which had been dedicated to Christ suffered their worst drought, and now the death of their most promising football team. During the drought, according to President Chiluba, not a single person died. He testified that God delivered them, but now the nation faced the heart breaking tragedy of this plane crash.
